About Soft Dental Grips

The original company, Acushy, was started in 2001, by a dental hygienist, Melanie Beck, who noticed the onset of symptoms due to repetitive motion injury syndrome.   She devised a grip that would retrofit existing dental instruments.  These grips allow instruments to be held with less muscular force, thus reducing work related musculoskeletal disorders.

The Acushy product company became part of the Tony Riso Company a worldwide leader in dental ultrasonics, in 2008. 

In late 2010, Soft Dental Grips became its own company, a division of Magnificent Medical Equipment, Inc.
